Long time no see.
I definitely haven't watched as much anime as last year. Long story short, real life happened and I wasn't in the best mood to consume.
That said, I finished The Ramparts of Ice yesterday. The title is not really the kind that made me feel at ease (I was thinking "the hell does 'ramparts of ice' mean??"), but it was surprisingly good. You know how the "boys meet girls" plots in Horimiya and My Dressup Darling and The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity all have a slightly surreal and unusual beginning, but whatever's in The Ramparts of Ice would make you (at least it made me) think that "oh all of this could've happened or probably has happened back in my high school at somewhere I don't know", and this realism (definitely more real than other shows in the same genre) did provide a special taste I didn't get from anywhere else. The second season is airing in October this year and I look forward to its development after the first season left me in somewhat of an emotional hanger.
