Context: FLCL (whole series)

This part is written after finishing FLCL and FLCL Progressive

I don't get the rating of FLCL Progressive on MAL; to me it's simply the same kind of story again. I'm sure that FLCL looked absolute crazy in 2000, but as someone who've gone through his own fair share of shows w/ wacky art expressions, it's just like bank holidays in Ireland: it's not not special, but it's not that special either.

Have to say I don't really like Haruhara Haruko. I don't hate her, it's just that I don't like her either. I'm watching Alternative and I'll be watching the rest; I'm still trying to figure out how I should feel about her existence.

I don't understand MAL's rating - to me they're simply the same stuff: there really isn't anything within all of these sequels that stands out as the thing that betrays and ruins the brand. It probably was revolutionary back in 2000, but as someone who has been living in the consequences of that revolution (as stated above) the revolutionary-ness really didn't feel like anything. Good stuff though; I don't regret watching this.
